We are using Win10 instant clones. When a user logs in to one of the cloned desktops, the start menu only shows 3 items. Once explorer is closed and restarted, it picks up the proper start menu. I've looked through all my UEM settings and can't seem to find any irregulatiry that might cause this.
Any help is appreciated.

I have updated the main appliance certificates, with ones signed by my Enterprise CA, but I cannot find there they are updated for the VAMI interface?

So I'm looking for some opinions and options. I am looking at migrating from a Windows vCenter Server to a physical VCSA (if that's possible) or to an ESXi host that is not managed by the VCSA.
Current setup:
ESXi: 2 hosts running 6.0.0 Build 3380124
vSphere: 6.0.0 Build 2997665
vSphere Server: Physical Windows Server 2008 R2
So the powers that be do not want to install the VCSA on our current cluster. I'm looking for some options. I have a 6.7 ESXi host that's not part of a cluster I could install a virtual VCSA on, or I could turn it into a physical VCSA if that's possible finding material on that is difficult. I think my last option would be to migrate to a new Windows server.
The kicker is I'm also standing up 2 new 6.7 hosts. But our current vSphere server needs to be shut down ASAP.
I am getting this error does anyone know whats causing this ?

my question is is there any software to protect these three virtual machines in Esxi and also in workstations if it is possible ?.
What are the best vmware protection software for virtual machines?
or do the best VPN software without hardware work or need to have the hardware ?.

We are noticing a strange issue with Windows 10 VM provisioning in vRA 7.4. The deployment times out during the CustomizeMachine state (2 hour timeout). We have also noticed that if we logon during the time the VM is hung at the CustomizeMachine state, but has completed sysprep, the deployment continues to the next state. As far as I know this state is where vmware guest customization is running for sysprep and changing the hostname, etc.
How does vRA talk to the VM to tell if vmware OS guest customization has completed? Are there any logs that will show the communication? How would logging on to the VM trigger the deployment to continue?
What I have verified so far is:
1. Guest customization is finishing completely without issues. The vmware tools log shows this and the VM is joined to the domain and the hostname is changed
2. I am using the latest vmware tools and vra guest agent for this environment
3. I have checked the vra guest agent log, but it has nothing to show. I don't think the guest agent is involved in this part of the process. It just keeps polling the vRA manager service for a work item.
4. I don't see any info in the IaaS server logs.
5. Logging onto the machine seems to trigger the deployment to continue
6. Other OSs (Server 2016, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Server 2012R2) deploy fine using the same template creation process and OS Guest Customization spec in vcenter.
My environment:
VCenter 6.7
vRA 7.4 distributed deployment with embedded vRO
Windows 10 Build 10.0.17134
VMWare Tools Build 10.2.1
vRA Guest Agent Build 7.4.0.13461

I am using the vCSA and I have joined it to the domain, and rebooted. I now am trying to add the identity source with "Use Machine Account" Windows Integrated Authentication. But I am getting an error that says "Check the network settings and make sure you have network access to the identity source". This is onsite and I can ping it by name and by IP. Any ideas of things I can try to fix?

I have a motherboard - Supermicro - with lots of NIC's. Currently, I have one of my VM's connected to a vSwitch, which has a physical adapter assigned to it.
However, I want to connect a computer to this machine via one of its NIC's and I want it to join this vSwitch. I know it is possible to add another nic as an uplink. But is it possible to add another nic so that other machines could be part of the same vSwitch?
In short, I want to add another nic as just another port on this vSwitch so other machines can be part of it.
Any tips on how to do it?

In regards to IC's and the Gold Image - i was just curious how most are loading Print Drivers . ( or are most not doing that ? )
We are using UEM / App Vol and Writables with just UIA's .
It sounds like most people are putting Printer Drivers on the Gold image of the instant clone ?
Sorry for being an idiot.. but i was just wondering the precise steps .
copy the driver files to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
We dont want everyone to have access to every printer... thus we dont want to install every printer on the GI .
Im just trying to 'preload' the drivers onto the GI.. so they are there when a users gets that printer added .
Perhaps install the printer then remove it ?.. i wonder if the driver stays ?

I just upgraded to Fusion 11.5 this morning, and found that networking seems to be completely and irreversably broken.
All of the network settings in Preferences are grayed out.
None of the VMs can see their network devices, and all network settings in the machine settings are grayed out. I tried a previous poster's method of removing and re-adding the interface with no luck. The same occurs when creating a new VM.
I'm running the latest Mojave on a 2018 15" MacBook Pro.
Trying to figure out how I can downgrade back to 11.1, this is really disappointing.
From VMware VMware Knowledge Base , open-vm-tools-desktop supports files drag_and_drop between Host and Guest. But partial success.
1. Host bare metal machine installs a RHEL7.5 and installs a Linux VMware Workstation Pro 15.0.4.
2. Create a VM with RHEL7.6 in this VMware Workstaion, enable its "drag and drop" and "copy and paste".
3. Boot this VM successfully.
4. Drag a file from a Host folder to Guest VM desktop, it works well.
5. Plan to drag a file from a Guest folder to Host desktop, but it fails.
6. From /tmp/VMwareDnD in Host, has built the fCQf65 folder, it is link to /home/tester1/.cache/vmware/drag_and_drop/fCQf65. It is null.
7. NO idea to find somewhere stores useful log.

I'm running in to an issue that I can't figure out. Fresh install of Pop-OS and downloaded Workstation Pro 15, installed a Windows 7 client, and Workstation Pro errors out when trying to download the vmware tools ISO. Has anyone ran in to this before?
